District Industries Centre Seppa

 

This office situated at the heart of the city Seppa, East Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. Arts and craft are the major element for people to strengthening their economic resources and enable them for their survival. People of this district depend on agriculture. Local people have their own adequate skill in making of traditional handicraft such as weaving, bamboo mat etcetera and many more activities. Jhum cultivation is one of them. To promote their outstand craft, the government provide all necessary aids to the artisan and craftsman through the department of industries.

     We able to see stall of industries department at the time of Republic Day and Independence Day celebration held at Seppa general field in every year and other handicrafts products. As a result, cottage industries training cum production Centre were started to train the interested local youth in different field of skill such as weaving, knitting, carpentry, black-smithy, bamboo, wax candle, bell metal, tailoring and carpet making. Nowadays, there are many new courses has also been introduced and training also provided at district level and state level. 

At present the district has Craft Centre located at Seppa, Chayangtajo, Lada, Pipu, Bana, Bameng, Khenewa, Pakke Kessang, Seijosa etcetera. There is an Emporium at Seppa through show cum sale counter which of emporium.
