The Government Model College, Seppa (Wessang) inaugurated by Shri Tapuk Taku, the then Hon'ble Parliamentary Secretary, (Tax and Excise)- Government of Arunachal Pradesh on 26th September, 2016 in presence of Shri Rajeev Takuk, the then Deputy Commissioner, Seppa, East Kameng District,Arunachal Pradesh.

The College at a glance 

By a notification, Arunachal Pradesh State Government had issued a notification for opening of the college at Wessang in East Kameng District in 2009. The first academic term started in 2010 only. This college is managed to make great effort to obtain quality education and blossom as a centre of learning for fulfilling the aspirations of the youths of the district especially as well as the state and the entire for learning education within the country.

Since 2010, the college was running temporarily within its premises of government Higher secondary school, Seppa since 2010. After shifted the college to its permanent campus at Wessang, Seppa in 2016 which is 9 Km faraway from the district HQ Seppa Township.

Despite the infrastructural draw backs, the college is committed to supply proper knowledge and wisdom for promotion of quality, social justice and to scale back socio-cultural differences, and to nourish the values for developing good individual life and society. The motto of the college is “Learn to Educate” which suggests after getting all knowledge through holistic education, the society are getting to be civilized and enlightened.

Academic developments

The college offers courses of study in Bachelor of Arts degree in accordance with syllabus and courses prepared by the Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar. 

The undergraduate courses at Bachelor Degree level are administered by the college in six major subjects viz English, Education, History, Economics and Political Science. The Major/Honours teaching facility are available in above subjects which begin at the 5th semesters only.

Semester system is introduced in B.A level. There are total 6 Semesters to finish the graduation of 3 years B.A.course (2 semesters during a year) as an example B.A. The 1st year course has divided into 2 semesters i.e. B.A. Semester-I and B.A. Semester-II.
